Central Thailand

Central Thailand is a mix of different trips. It includes Bangkok, historic towns such as Ayutthaya and Lopburi, western stops such as Suan Phueng and Sangkhla Buri, and Khao Yai, a gateway town for Khao Yai National Park. What links them is practical: Bangkok is the usual starting point for the rest.

Overview

Central Thailand is a mix of different trips. It includes Bangkok, historic towns such as Ayutthaya and Lopburi, western stops such as Suan Phueng and Sangkhla Buri, and Khao Yai, a gateway town for Khao Yai National Park. What links them is practical: Bangkok is the usual starting point for the rest.

Good to know

Ayutthaya is usually seen as a day trip from Bangkok, though its historic core rewards more time. Other stops use different bus, minivan or train routes out of Bangkok, so check each route before linking them.
