Getting there & around

Getting there

The mainland transfer to Laem Kruat Pier runs by the blue songthaew 8557 shared taxi (also stopping at the airport) or by booking a Grab or private transfer. A year-round longtail leaves from Laem Kruat Pier; in the November-March high season, a speedboat or ferry also runs from Krabi Town's Klong Jirad Pier, a twenty-minute drive from the airport.

Getting around

Cycling suits the island's gentler roads, while a scooter gives greater range. There is no scheduled island bus — accommodation transfers and motorcycle sidecars are the alternative for travelers who don't want to self-drive.
