- Landmarks — Sala Kaew Ku (Wat Khaek) is a sculpture park of massive concrete figures blending Buddhist and Hindu imagery, the work of the mystic Luang Pu Bunleua Sulilat. Wat Pho Chai, the province's most important temple, houses the named Luang Por Phra Sai Buddha image.
- Markets — Tha Sadet Market (Indochina Market) is the town's in-town market near the Mekong. The riverside Walking Street is a separate weekly Saturday-evening street festival.
- Day trips — Phu Phra Bat Historical Park, more than 3,000 years old with large rock formations, sits toward Udon Thani province. Wat Phu Tok, a rocky outcrop near Bung Kan about four hours away, has seven levels of wooden steps representing stages of Buddhist enlightenment.
